December 31st 2007 Being Small Film The Bigger Picture In December we had a really successful film premiere screening event at Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff showing 4 new films made by young people working with us as part of the First Light Movies Awards.
December 23rd 2007 Women's Aid Film Bridgend Women’s Aid – The Next Step Video Worker Katja Stiller and Drama Worker Alison O'Connor are currently running an innovative project with Bridgend Women's Aid called The Next Step. Most of the participants in the project have experienced domestic abuse, and many have spent time living in refuges.
November 29th 2007 Sound of the Drum Black History Month – The Sound of the Drum We celebrated Black History Month (BHM) in October, working with a group of young African people in Cardiff as part of our First Light Movies Project The Sound of the Drum.
November 29th 2007 Filming Viva Elvis Valley and Vale is now on You Tube! We've been busy putting lots of our films on our new You Tube Channel - over 20 films up already and we're still working on lots more.
November 1st 2007 Wishing on a Star workshop group Wishing On a Star Film Launch We will be marking Anti Bullying Week (19th-23rd Novemember) this year with a film screening event at The Odeon Cinema, Bridgend.
November 1st 2007 PESS Ogmore Comprehensive School 2007 Dance and Obesity There has been much discussion recently of growing levels of obesity, especially among children and young people, and of the need to address this as a matter of urgency.
October 2nd 2007 Back2Back group with Alyson Evans The Art Of Inclusion This is our Drama Development project in the Bridgend area, working with young people and exploring a range of youth and health issues through drama and dialogue. The project is funded by Cymorth and we are working in partnership with our Local Health Board.
September 29th 2007 Viva Elvis in Production Viva Elvis Valley and Vale has been working with students at Coleg Gwent in Pontypool on the production of their 10 minute First Light film Viva Elvis. Viva Elvis will be filmed in September and part of the film is set at the Viva Porthcawl festival.
September 29th 2007 Around the World in 10 Days - Summer Arts Project Around the World in 10 Days Summer Arts Project Valley and Vale Community Arts devised and facilitated this new International Summer Arts project, working with local children and young people in the village of Betws in August 2007.
