Drama Report
As part of Anti-Bullying Week 2009 the Drama Department were asked to run a number of Anti-Bullying workshops in local schools and groups.

Dance Report
We are currently planning an exciting Beacon partnership project with our partner Dance organisations TAN Dance and Dynion, hoping to develop a new male dance/ drama/ Rites of Passage project at HMP Parc in Bridgend.

‘The Art of Change’ Beacon Award Project
Thanks to funding from The Arts Council of Wales we have been working on and completing many new and exciting Community Arts development projects and pieces of work over the past few months This work is already achieving many of the aims we set out at the start of the initiative.

‘OPENCities’ – a British Council partnership project
OPENcities is a British Council partnership project with cities around the world. The British Council asked us to organise a day with young people in Cardiff this autumn explore creatively what Cardiff means to them.

Ethiopian Cultural Exchange Project
“Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and the people of Gemini, get under your skin…” This sentiment was echoed by photography worker Alison McGann and music worker Laura Bradshaw after just a few days of working with the Gemini Trust. The smells, the sounds, the colours, but always the people take your breath away.

Valley and Vale Community Arts Youth Theatre
Our new Youth Theatre has begun with a flying start. Participants are currently working on a play based around the topic of 'Image' that will be toured around the Bridgend County Borough in the new year.

Valley and Vale Community Arts Youth Theatre
Through exercises, discussions, mask work and forum theatre the theme was explored in weekly sessions, resulting with the group creating a thought-provoking piece of theatre.

Developing Cultural Exchange Projects
With support from Goldstar and our Arts Council of Wales Beacon Award, Laura Bradshaw who runs our Betws Community Choir will be traveling to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia in October 2009 to work with the Ethiopian Gemini Trust.

Dance Across the World
Across the Bridgend Borough we are developing new dance and creative movement projects. Maes-yr-Haul Primary school is very passionate about learning about other schools in different countries and has links with schools in Africa, Nepal and South America.
