Darwin Community Arts Exchange

March 29 2010

Alyson Evans in Australia

We have just had this good news from our soon-to-be partners in Australia. Watch this space for more news about this exciting cultural exchange project…

‘Dear Alyson

I am delighted to invite you to visit Darwin Community Arts.

During your stay here in Darwin our organisation hopes to utilise your skills in a number of activities and projects that are already underway and will possibly ask you to be the facilitator of a school holiday project.  The role you take on each of these projects will require further discussion and negotiation between you, the project manager and current facilitators.

At Darwin Community Arts we strive to provide opportunities for community members to develop arts practice, regardless of a persons abilities or cultural background. One way of fostering quality arts practice is to develop relationships and regularly collaborate with a variety of arts and community workers. We believe your background and experience would extend the work we are already undertaking especially in the form of theatre and hope that your time here will prove to be an effective learning experience for yourself and our team.

The link your visit will create between Darwin Community Arts and Vale and Valley Community Arts is one we hope will be sustained after you have returned to Wales. We also hope that a connection may be developed between the communities the organisations work with to assist them in their knowledge and experience of the arts and culture.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope to see you in Darwin soon.

Kind Regards

Brenda Logan’
