Betws Community Choir sings @ Wales/Ethiopia Launch

September 1 2010

Betws Choir sing at the launch

Betws Community Choir is quite a special thing… dreamt of long ago, laughed about a few times, and then really imagined and made possible with a leap of faith (or a wing and a song) by Valley and Vale Community Arts, the people of Betws, St David’s Church, and various funding pots including Reach, The Arts Council of Wales, The Welsh Assembly Government, and The Communities First Trust Fund.

We are a group of people joined by the love of song and also having a laugh and also sometimes (quite often in fact) making the most beautiful sounds together. We welcome new people of all ages and abilities locally. Our choir facilitator Laura Bradshaw can make anyone sing.

Call us if you like the sound of it on  01656 729246

Here’s a couple of songs that we sang at the Wales/Ethiopia Exhibition Launch. We start with a traditional Welsh song, Ar Lan y Mor, and finish with Shosholoza, a traditional Southern African folk song:
