As a Performing Art, many of the dance pieces created by our community groups working with our Dance Development Workers are enjoyed throughout the Bridgend Borough and beyond by audiences ranging from small friends and family showings to large-scale community events and performance nights.
Although the creative process is just as important in dance as it is in all our art forms, most of our dance projects do work towards and culminate in live dance performances which are shown to wide and varied audiences.
Here are some excerpts from some of our live dance events and performances:
Dance Montage – This montage contains clips from some of our dance workshops, performances and films from the last few years.
Being Small – This project used dance, music and film to encourage the children to explore what it feels like being small and expressing their feelings through creativity.
Chiaroscuro – This film was made with Good Company Dance Theatre, our dance touring company from Bridgend Day Centre
Fields of Gold – This piece was made with Good Company Dance Theatre and shows the performance at The Berwyn Centre, Nantymoel and includes a large scale video backdrop which was made by Jon Ruddick.
Falling Leaves Return to Their Roots – “I wanted to explore my mixed ancestry through folkloric myths; the importance of water and ritual using film and dance theatre…”
