A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Abergavenny Castle

As part of our 30th Anniversary programme we are working with groups and communities that we haven’t worked with before to reach new audiences in a new outreach project that we are developing across Wales and beyond.

This Spring we are working on a new film and drama project with 7Corners Centre in Abergavenny. The 7Corners Centre provides a place where young people can meet in safety, find help for personal development and receive support if in crisis. Working closely with regional and national organisations such as Gap, Fusion, Wallich, Teen Challenge and CAB, 7Corners provides a comprehensive service for the youth of Abergavenny in Monmouthshire (Gwent). The 7Corners Centre is the vision of a local charity The Bridge to Cross Charitable Trust and it was founded on a passion for the young people of the town and surrounding areas.

This project is an exciting new venture with many people involved, leading to an outdoor performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream performed by the young people from the area. Our media group are making a film diary of the project and will be filming the performance on the night also; they are young Millennium Volunteers and are supported by The Millennium Volunteers Fund.

This evening extravaganza will take place on the evening of June 21st (on Summer Solstice, the longest day and the shortest night of the year) at Abergavenny castle ruins. Come back to the website nearer the time for more news of this exciting event.
