Creativity for Wellbeing – Annual Report

Annual Report 2014

by Alex Bowen, Director

We have just launched our latest Annual Report, designed by Black Cat Design, who also design and manage our website and social media sites.

In this report we again celebrate the fact that we have achieved great things in our 5 Key Programme areas of Creativity for Health, Breaking the Cycle, Learning Through Creative Arts, Creative Communities and Cultural Connections.

The last year has also been interesting and challenging because it has been full of both opportunities and threats, as we have all moved into a harsh financial climate. The threat to the Arts is very real in the face of economic cutbacks, but I am pleased to say that Valley and Vale has, so far, managed to ride the storm very well, maintaining our essential core funding from both The Arts Council of Wales and Bridgend County Borough Council, with relatively small cuts.

We have also invested a great deal of time internally in planning what could be possible if we follow our own ethos of thinking creatively, finding possible and positive solutions to potentially difficult times, and working together towards making this vision a reality. Our vision for the future is all about Creativity for Wellbeing, with some very exciting developments in the pipeline for the future.

I would like to give a huge thank you to my amazing staff team, our Board, volunteers, and especially to everyone we so are lucky to share our creativity with every year.
