Filming Love 2 Walk ‘Elvis Walk’ for Reach

Elvis festival

Our Film Department has been busy filming a ‘Love 2 Walk’ ‘Elvis Walk’ for the Reach programme in Bridgend. The Reach programme leads on the delivery of the Rural Development Plan (RDP) for Wales within Bridgend County Borough.

Reach works closely with colleagues in Bridgend Council and a range of voluntary and third sector partner organisations that care about our countryside and heritage and love to go walking, raising the profile of rural Bridgend and the people and businesses that make it a vibrant place to visit and live. They design the programme for Love2Walk carefully to ensure there is a balance between informative and challenging walks and some lighter entertaining and engaging activities. Also, each year, in the spirit of innovation and fun they like to add some new additions to the programme. Some of the new additions to this year’s event included the Tasty Walk which offered a chance to dine at a range of restaurants over one walk and the Walk2Love dating walk.

On a sunny Saturday morning in September 2012 hundreds of Elvis Impersonators gathered at Trecco Bay, Porthcawl. Our Film Workers Tracy Pallant and Amy Peckham got to work filming as the Porthcawl gathering took the World Record for the largest gathering of Elvis impersonators, before they headed off on their walk along the coast. Surrounded by a sea of Elvis’s they marched along, proving Elvis to be alive and well and getting fit with Love 2 Walk!
