As part of the Valley and Vale Community Arts team, I have recently been running a workshop at Kenfig Hill Wellbeing Centre near Bridgend, encouraging the members who drop in to explore the therapeutic value of Arts and Crafts. In this project we have been working with watercolours, and I have been really impressed by the creativity of the group and their enthusiasm.
I have meet some lovely characters, one gentleman in particular has made me smile all week – he had popped in by chance after seeing the Arts and Crafts sign outside the Centre. He has really enjoyed the social side of the workshop as he has been sadly widowed, and he now knows what to do with all the paints and brushes his family had been buying for him over the years. After the workshop he announced that it was the best hour he had spent for a long time.
