Teaching After School funk classes over the previous four months at Ynysawdre Secondary School has proven to be a real success! After finding much dedication from six of the Lower School students we decided to form a dance troupe called ‘Soul Stylez’ and created a piece for the Bridgend Active Young Persons competition which was to be held at The Pavilion.
The group worked solidly over a short period, training every lunchtime and after school. When it came to the competition the girls were ready and waiting, buzzing to get on the stage! Seeing them up their performing a longside all the other schools in the borough was an amazing feeling. The competition only offered first placings for the Junior and Secondary category of which Maesteg High School won both. Soul Stylez held a strong stage presence and enaged the audience with their contagious energy!I am looking forward to continue my work with Soul Stylez and push their creative skills to the max!
WELL DONE GIRLS!
