As part of our Drama for Emotional Health Project we are currently working in a number of Primary Schools to explore some of the issues and myths surrounding the move from Primary School to Comprehensive School.
This particular project was set up in response to Bridgend Anti-Bullying Task Group’s priorities and follows on from a number of workshops we have done throughout the Comprehensive Schools in the Bridgend Borough in previous years. Working alongside Karen Francis from Bridgend YOS (Youth Offending Service), we are working with every Primary School that will feed into the new Bridgend Valleys’ Comprehensive School. The workshops aim to use drama and dialogue to build confidence and self-esteem and also to explore thoughts and feelings about this transition time in the pupils’ lives. So far this project has had fantastic feedback with all pupils saying that it has been a helpful and positive experience.
This project is funded by Cymorth, Bridgend County Borough Council, and is supported by Bridgend Anti-Bullying Task Group and Bridgend Children and Young People’s Partnership.
